Using our images
Can I Use an Image From This Website?
Only with our written permission. Linking to the page that shows the image is always fine. Copying the image file, editing it, or posting it on another website, in a video or on social media is not allowed without permission.
Many of our images are illustrations we planned, edited and labelled for these pages, such as the exploded diagrams that show what sits inside a drive. Each image file carries our name, a copyright notice and a link to this page. A small recover-ssd.com mark sits in one corner.
If you would like to use an image, for example in a school project or an article, ask first. We may say yes when the image is credited to Recover-SSD with a link back to the page it came from. Use our contact page for image permission, and tell us which image and where you plan to use it.
| What you want to do | Allowed? | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Link to a page that shows the image | Yes | Nothing, just link |
| Share the page link on social media | Yes | The preview image is fine |
| Copy the image into your own site, video or post | Only with permission | Ask first, credit Recover-SSD with a link |
| Edit, crop out the mark, or sell the image | No | Not allowed |
How they are made
Are These Photographs?
Not all of them. Images marked "AI illustration" were made with an AI image tool and then checked, edited and labelled by us. They show what a device or a screen looks like in general. They are not photographs of our lab, our staff or any customer's drive.
Every AI illustration says so in its caption, and the file itself carries the standard AI label in its data, a marker that tools such as Google image search can read, so people can tell a drawing from a photograph. Honesty matters here. We keep that label in place on purpose. Photographs, when we use them, are marked as photographs.
If you see a copy
What Happens if Someone Copies Our Images?
We check for copies of our images on other websites. When we find one used without permission, we ask for it to be removed or credited, and we use the standard takedown process with the hosting company when a request is ignored.
If you see one of our images on another website, you can tell us through the contact page. A link to the page where you saw it is all we need. Thank you.
